First 2011 budget rectification: More money for investments and arrears

The government decided the first budget rectification at the Wednesday meeting. Sums are allocated according to the positive news from economy, which confirms a 1.5% increase estimated for this year, premier Emil Boc announced.
The general consolidated budget execution is 11.3 billion lei, representing 2.07% of GDP, below the limit of 12.6 billion lei convened with IMF, World Bank and European Commission.“The situation is better than we convened with IMF for the deficit, on the background of positive influences coming to the state budget as a result of unexpected budget incomes,” the premier declared at Antena 3 TV station.
In the first semester of the year, incomes from tax on profit grew by 155.2 million lei, as a result of resuming economic activities. Incomes from income taxes grew by 144 million lei, the premier motivating it with the appreciation of gross average salaries. Money from VAT grew by 650 million lei.
The most important increase comes from excises which brought an additional 1645 million lei to the budget. Most of the sum comes from tobacco products. Non fiscal incomes grew by 574 million lei.
Additional money received by ministries following rectification:
- Ministry of Agriculture: 910 million lei
- Ministry of Administration and Interior: 696,1 million lei
- Ministry of Transports: 1.69 billion lei
- Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism: 300 million lei
- Defence Ministry: 239 million lei
- Ministry of Economy: 140.3 million lei
- Labour Ministry: 124.8 million lei
- Justice Ministry: 81.9 million lei
- Ministry of Culture: 54.7 million lei
- Romanian Intelligence Service: 54.5 million lei
- Ministry of Communications: 21.2 million lei
- Health Ministry: 341.2 million lei
The budget of the Finance Ministry will be reduced by 593.1 million lei and that of the Ministry of Environment by 78.3 million lei.
