Romania pays larger amounts to EU budget than collected funds in July

In July 2011 Romania paid larger amounts to the European Union (EU) budget compared with the funds it collected, the difference standing at seven million euros, according to the data sent by the Public Finance Ministry (MFP), at the request of Agerpres.
The amounts Romania paid to the EU in July 2011 accounted for 103.89 million euros, while the funds received by Romania from the Union budget stood at 96.82 million euros.
In the first seven months of 2011 the balance stands in Romania's favour, which is an obvious beneficiary in the relation with the EU, with total funds received amounting to 558.59 million euros since the beginning of the year. This year, Romania has contributed to the EU budget with 791.77 million euros and has received funds worth 1.35 billion euros.
Since the accession, in the period 2007-2011, Romania has received from the EU total funds amounting to 10.667 billion euros and has paid 5.734 billion euro contributions, the balance of the flows inclining by 4.932 billion euros in Romania's favour.
Since 2007, each year, Romania has been a clear beneficiary, the balance of the money flows in the Romania-EU relation standing at 426.37 million euros in 2007, 1.346 billion euros in 2008, 1.513 billion euros in 2009 and 1.087 billion euros in 2010.
Romania's contribution to the EU budget stood at 1.15 billion euros in 2007, 1.268 billion euros in 2008, 1.364 billion euros in 2009 and 1.158 billion euros in 2010 and the collected amounts accounted for 1.577 billion euros in 2007, 2.615 billion euros in 2008, 2.878 billion euros in 2009 and 2.246 billion euros in 2010.
