Romania's industrial turnover, up 17.7% Jan.-July 20011

Romania' s industrial output advanced 17.7 percent in the first seven months of 2011 compared with the similar period of 2010, the National Statistics Institute (INS) reports.
The overall July 2011 industrial turnover (internal and external markets) was down 4.2 percent in nominal terms from the previous month, yet up 13.5 from July 2010.
Compared with June 2011, drops were recorded in July 2011 in the mining industry (-5.2 percent) and the manufacturing industries (-4.1 percent). The turnover in the consumer goods industry was down 6.2 percent; the turnover in the capital goods industry was down 5.3 percent; the turnover in the intermediary goods industry was down 3.5 percent, while the drop in the durable goods industry was 2.3 percent. The energy industry advanced 0.3 percent.
Compared with July 2010, the July 2011 industrial turnover was up 13.5 percent overall as a result of a 15-percent rise in the mining industry and a 13.4-percent rise in the manufacturing industries.
All big industrial groups recorded turnover growth: the energy industry was up 38.6 percent; the intermediary goods industry advanced 16.9 percent; the capital goods industry increased by 7.3 percent, the consumer goods industry by 7.1 percent and the durable goods industry by 6 percent.
The 17.7-percent increase in the industrial turnover in the first seven months of 2011 was the result of an 18.2-percent rise in the manufacturing industries and a 5-4 percent rise in the mining industry.
Turnover rises were recorded in all sectors: the energy industry was up 28.1 percent; the intermediary goods industry 25.4 percent, the capital goods industry 15.8 percent, the consumer goods industry 6.9 percent and the durable goods industry 5.9 percent.
