Romania's Foreign Minister Baconschi said Tuesday in Washington DC that Romania wants to see as many American companies as possible invest in Romania, after having announced that IBM will open a factory in Romania that will generate about 3,000 jobs.
'The U.S. is already one of the most important foreign investors in the Romanian economy. We are expecting the volume of US investment to increase, after the already taken decision about an IBM factory that will be created in Romania, which is expected to generate about 3,000 new jobs,' Baconschi said on Tuesday after the signing of a US-Romania ballistic missile defence agreement.
He showed that there was a 'coherent political dialogue over the energy, business strategy, and transatlantic issues within NATO.'
'We have enough political trust, we know each other very well and we would like to see more US companies invest in Romania,' Baconschi added.
In her turn, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the United States wants the same.
Foreign Minister Teodor Baconschi and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed on Monday in Washington an Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Romania on the Deployment of the US Ballistic Missile Defense System in Romania.
