The leu falls to its lowest level against the euro this year

Romania's national currency, the leu (RON), on Wednesday fell 0.15 percent to the European single currency, the euro, with the National Bank of Romania (BNR) posting a Wednesday's reference exchange rate of RON 4.2886 to the euro, up RON 0.0064 from Tuesday's RON 4.2822 to the euro rate. This is the lowest value of the leu against the euro this year.
Yet, the leu strengthened against the US dollar, with the BNR posting a reference exchange rate of RON 3.1346 to the US dollar, down RON 0,0105 from Tuesday's RON 3.1451 to the US dollar rate.
One gram of gold sold was quoted for RON 184.6701, down 1.12 percent, or RON 2.05 from the previous session's quote of RON 182.6107.
