Central Depository promotes Romania's capital market at SIBOS 2011, in Canada

The Central Depository (DC) is to present Romania's capital market potential at the most important event of the international financial-banking community - SIBOS 2011, held in Toronto (Canada), from September 19 to 23, the institution informs in a press release.

Also, the Central Depository will highlight the steps taken in Romania to ensure a modern infrastructure in line with the European and international standards.

DC representatives participated on Monday in a debate in the field, along with the National Settlement Depository - Russian depositary and the Euroclear Bank international depository, moderated by Jeremy Grant - Financial Times. Topics approached included recent developments in Europe, prospects for global capital markets and the development strategies of market infrastructures.

'Bucharest has a potential to become an important regional center. It is our interest, of us all, and we focus all efforts to achieve this objective. An irrefutable evidence is the very fact that, today, we participate in this prestigious platform for discussion ', said Adriana Tanasoiu, director general of the Central Depository.

The Central Depository is present, for the second consecutive year, at the most important event of the financial-banking community - SIBOS.
