E. Boc: Budget deficit in 2012 - around 3%, also depending on state companies losses
ACTMedia - 22 Septembrie 2011
The budget deficit projected for 2012 will be around 3 percent, and any eventual reduction below this level will depend on how the state companies will be classified, or reclassified given the budget, their losses affecting deficit targets, Prime Minister Emil Boc said on Wednesday, at the beginning of the Government Meeting.
'Any state company that goes on loss ' eats ' from the budget deficit. (...) We hope not to get there, because we want to have powerful and performing state companies that do not spend our citizens' money and affect the set budget deficit. So the lower number of state companies with losses, the lower the deficit would be affected', said the head of the Government.
In respect of the economic growth next year, the forecast will be made after the assessments are conducted with the IMF and the European Commission, the Premier also said, voicing confidence that for this year a growth of 1.5 percent is within reach, provided that investments in progress are finalized.
On the other hand, the Prime Minister said that the Trade Registry data show that there are fewer companies suspending their activity or filing for scraping in comparison with the first eight months of 2010, at the same time increasing the number of new set up firms.
'Statistically, the number of new companies is 27 percent higher than in the first eight months of 2010 and the number of firms shut down decreased by 72 percent in the first eight months of 2011 compared with 2010', the Prime Minister also said.
