The Vienna Institute cuts the prognosis for Romania’s economy in 2012

The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (WIIW) will revise dropping the economic growth prognosis for Romania in 2012,from 4% to 2.5-3% due to the diminishing demand on the export markets of Romania.
'The WIIW Institute will revise the growth prognosis for 2011 at 1.8% and that for 2012 at 2.5-3%. The latter ( for 2012) was caused by the slowing down in demand on the main export markets of Romania' stated for Wall-Street.ro, the economist Gabor Hunya.
At the same time, according to the latest statements made by the government representatives, this autumn there will be revised the economic growths statements, in line with all European countries.
The finances minister, Gheorghe Ialomiteanu said that after revision the fiscal space will be revised to be left with budgetary expenditure for 2012.
At the same time, the chairman of the National Commission for Prognosis (CNP) Ion Ghizdeanu said that it is possible to revise the prognosis for 2012 but he did not give any figure regarding the economic growth, saying that the autumn variant of the prognosis will be published this week.
ING Bank revised last week the prognosis regarding the evolution of the Romanian economy for 2012, at 2.2% from 3.5%.
