Eurostat: Romania, second place in EU in terms of industrial new orders increase in July

Industrial new orders dropped 2.1 percent in the euro area and 0.8 percent in the entire European Union in July 2011 compared with the previous month, according to the data released on Thursday by the European Office of Statistics (Eurostat).
Romania is placed second in EU in terms of increase in industrial new orders in July, with a 3.6 percent advance, after a 3.1 percent decline in June.
According to Eurostat, 11 member states registered positive developments of industrial new orders, while in 11 member states industrial new orders decreased in July compared with the previous month.
The highest increases were registered in Sweden (5.8 percent), Romania (3.6 percent), Lithuania (2.9 percent) and Estonia (2.6 percent) and the most significant decline was registered in France (minus 11.2 percent), Finland (minus 10.3 percent), Slovakia (minus 7.7 percent) and Denmark (minus 7.5 percent).
As an annual comparison, industrial new orders registered an 8.4 percent increase in the euro area, while in the EU new industrial orders went up 6.8 percent in July 2011 compared with July 2010.
According to Eurostat, industrial new orders increased in 16 member states and decreased in 6 states.
The highest increases were registered in Estonia (24.5 percent), Lithuania (24.4 percent), Bulgaria (21.8 percent) and Portugal (19.6 percent) and the most significant decline was registered in Hungary (minus 6 percent), Spain (minus 1.9 percent) and Slovakia (minus 1.4 percent). Romania registered an 11 percent increase in industrial new orders in July, Agerpres reports.
