ZEW Study : Romania continues to have the best economic perspectives in Central and Eastern Europe

Romania continued in September to have the best economic perspectives at six months, from Central and Eastern Europe (ECE) as such countries as Hungary and Poland recorded strong drops in trust, according to the ZEW institute.
The indicator measuring the perception of analysts for the next six months went down in the case of Romania by 5.5 points to -5.6 points.
Second, but at great distance from Romania is Slovakia with -35 points ( with a decline of 9.4 points).
The most important drop was recorded by Hungary with 31.8 points at -47.5 points, the most reduced level among the countries included in the study, followed by Poland with a decline of 21.6% at -36.8 points. All the countries in the ECE region analysed had drops in the perception of analysts with the exception of Turkey.
At the ECE level the indicator for economic expectations lost 11.6 points, at -38 points, the survey made by ZEW in collaboration with the Austrian group Erste shows. As regards the present economic situation, Romania was left last but one in the region, before Hungary. The indicator for Romania went slightly up by 3.5 points, at -37.2 points. In Hungary the perception got worse by 9.1 points at -56.3 points and in Croatia with 4.2 points at -36.5 points.
In Central and Eastern Europe the perception for the present economic situation evolved positively by 4.4 points at 7.2 points. The expectations for the Stock Exchange in Bucharest got better in September by 4.4 points, the indicator referring to the evolution of BET which includes the most liquid ten shares on the stock exchange reaching 22.3 points. The indicator which measures expectations regarding the evolution of the leu went down by 7.8 points at 10.1 points. The indicator went down for all currencies in the region, with the exception of the Croatian Kun and the Turkish lira.
At the study made between 5-19 September there were 82 analysts, out of whom 24 from Turkey. The surveys include, in the region of Central and Eastern Europe Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.
