Non-governmental loans in lei increase 0.1% and forex-denominated ones drop 0.3% in August

The balance of non-governmental loans in August 2011 diminished 0.1 percent (+0.2 percent in real terms) compared with July 2011 to 215.70 billion lei, according to the data released on Friday, September 23, by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
The loans in lei increased 0.1 percent (0.5 percent in real terms), while the forex-denominated loans expressed in lei dropped 0.3 percent (expressed in euros, the loans in foreign exchange increased 0.1 percent).On August 31, 2011, the non-governmental loans registered a 3.9 percent increase (-0.4 percent in real terms) compared with August 31, 2010, based on the 2.5 percent increase in the lei component (-1.7 percent in real terms) and the 4.7 percent increase in the forex-denominated component expresses in lei (expressed in euros, the foreign exchange loans went up 5.6 percent).
The governmental loans increased 0.6 percent, to 64.571 billion lei in August 2011. On August 31, 2011, the governmental loans registered an 18.5 percent increase (13.6 percent in real terms) compared with August 31, 2010.
