ACTMedia - 28 Septembrie 2011
British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Vince Cable will be on visit to Bucharest on Wednesday and Thursday, September 28 and 29, in order to promote the trade relations between Great Britain and Romania as well as the partnership for economic growth in the European Union agreed upon by President Traian Basescu and British Premier David Cameron in London in June, informs a release sent by the Embassy of Great Britain on Tuesday.
Vince Cable will have meetings with members of the Government that are in charge of economy, European affairs, labour and transports, will talk with businessman during a meeting of the Romanian-British Chamber of Commerce and will be the main guest at an event hosted by the National Bank of Romania dealing with the European growth and competitiveness, reads the above-mentioned source.
I am glad I shall be in Romania, the seventh largest state in the European Union and a key partner of Great Britain in Europe. Our countries must overcome a common challenge: to find new sources of economic growth and improvement of the competitiveness of national economies in the future. The bilateral trade is on the increase and many British companies expanded their operations in Romania in spite of the economic crisis. My hope is that we shall develop a context that should be favourable for future investments and enlarged bilateral trade. In Europe we want to cooperate with Romania in order to finalize and strengthen the Common Market, in order to support growth and innovation and to diminish the legislative burden on employees and especially the SMEs. This is the way to a future sustainable development, the above-mentioned release quotes the British Secretary of State as saying.
