Romania's energy strategy, topic of discussion between officials, AmCham

Drawing up the energy strategy of Romania and the project to introduce professional management in the companies with majority state capital subordinated to in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business Environment (MECMA) were topics discussed on Tuesday by Minister of Economy Ion Ariton, with the representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania 'AmCham.'
According to a MECMA press release, the two sides also approached topics referring to public-private partnership projects and the implementation of European energy directives.
Participating in the meeting were Alexandra Gatej, president of AmCham Romania, Carmen Neagu, region executive South East Europe GE Energy, Vasile Iuga, SEE managing partner PricewaterhouseCoopers Romania, Ronald Binkofski, general manager Microsoft Romania, Tibor Pandi, general manager City Bank Romania, Anca Harasim, executive director AmCham Romania.
According to MECMA, the meeting had as main purpose the initiation of some discussions to identify major economic projects that Romania and the United States can promote within the economic component of the Strategic Partnership for 21st Century, recently adopted by the heads of the two states.
Minister Ion Ariton and the participants in the meeting decided to intensify the cooperation between AmCham and MECMA in the next period, with the ministry to benefit from the expertise and experience of AmCham members.
