BNR regulations for credit classification and placements in force as of 1 October

According to regulations, financial performance is included in categories noted from A to E. The debtors' performance category must be determined twice a year for companies and for natural persons will be maintained until the next re-evaluation. At the same time, if the financial performance of a debtor cannot be evaluated it will be included in E category, where A means standard, B in observation C sub-standard , D doubtful and E loss.

The regulations are applied at individual level to credit institutions, Romania n juridical persons and Romanian branches of credit institutions from third states, which for all or a part of expositions in the credit/placement category determine minimum capital demands for credit risks.
