Romanian State borrows EUR 69 mn from commercial banks

The Public Finance Ministry (MPF) on Monday borrowed about 69 million euros (over 297.486 million lei) from commercial banks, through an issue of discounted T-bills placed on tender through the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
The securities have a six-month maturity and the average yield the issue was adjudicated at was 6.69 percent. The weighted-average discount rate stood at 6.4 percent.
The total value of the issue accounted for 300 million lei and the total demand of the 12 banks participating in the tender amounted to 720.76 million lei. MFP rejected buying offers exceeding a yield level worth 6.75 percent.
