ACTMedia - 19 Octombrie 2011
The value of the investments made in Romania by the Dutch companies exceeded 11 billion euros in 2011, 1.5 billion euros (plus 15.8 percent) above the amount reported in the last year for the period July 2010 - July 2011, the officials of the Romanian-Dutch Trade Chamber (NRCC) told at a press conference on Tuesday.
'At present, over 3,000 companies with Dutch capital are active in Romania and our all-in investments amount to over 11 billion euros. As financial consultant for foreign investors, I assert that one can have success in Romania without being involved in corruption deeds. There is corruption in other countries too, it is not a phenomenon engulfing only Romania,' NRCC Chairman Peter de Ruiter said.
In his turn, Executive Director with NRCC Richard Reese said that over the last year 153 Dutch companies have been opened in Romania, with their total number standing at 3,937 in July 2011.
'There were 3,784 Dutch firms in Romania in July 2010 and their number surged to 3,937 a year later. In the last twelve months, 153 Dutch companies have been set up and the value of investments went up 1.5 billion euros. With respect to the bilateral exchanges between the two states, the increase was 8.59 percent,' Reese pointed out.
At the same time, regarding the exports and the imports between Romania and the Netherlands, the figures record an upward trend.
'The exports made by Romania to the Netherlands edged up 7.74 percent in the last year, while imports from the Netherlands rose by 9.12 percent. As for the classification of investments by their amount, the vessel construction ranks first, followed by the food industry, the chemical production, logistics and the finance-banking sector,' the NRCC representative explained.
The NRCC, a non-profit organization founded in 2005 represents more than 85 Romanian and Dutch members.
The institution, alongside the Dutch-Romanian Network Platform considers that Romania is one of the most attractive destinations for investments from Central and Eastern Europe for the Dutch entrepreneurs.
