French Film Festival to begin in Bucharest, on Oct 21st

The French Film Festival, due in Bucharest, on Oct 21-28, is aimed at a very wide range of audience starting with young cinemagoers till film professionals, France's Ambassador in Romania Henri Paul told a news conference at the French Institute in Bucharest, on Tuesday.
This year's film selection is absolutely excellent, and it mirrors the French creativity in its entire universality, Ambassador Henri Paul said.
He emphasized that beside My Little Princess, a film everybody is eager to watch because the connection between France and Romania through its director Eva Ionesco, the audience can also watch a film, which has brought on very different reactions, some liked it very much, whilst others simply hated it. And it was La Conquette (The Conquest) that the French Ambassador meant, and which shows the last election campaign before France's incumbent President Nicolas Sarkozy was elected, but also his private life.
The fifteenth edition of the French Film Festival brings to Bucharest 22 feature films, nine premieres and six Cannes Prize winners, the most important French films made in 2011.
The Impardonables (The Unforgivable), directed by Andre Tchine will open the Festival and starring actress Caole Bouquet is also attending.
The Festival is to present films such as Voir la mer (Looking at the Sea) with Pauline Lefevre starring, Quartier Lointain (Distant District) directed by Sam Garbarski, 'Un amour de jeunesse (Prime Love)' directed by Mia Hansen-Love, De vrais mensonges (Blaring Lies) by Pierre Salvadori, Les Bien-aimes (the Beloved) directed by Christophe Honore, La guerre est declaree (War has been declared) directed by Valerie Donzelli and 'Largo Winch II by Jerome Salle.
This year edition of the French Film Festival in Bucharest, will number seven sections, namely Premieres (to present nine films that are on for the first time in Romania, the Films and Power section (to show four recent films on topical political issues), the Patrice Leconte Retrospective (showing films like Les Bronzes' till his latest one), the Decouverte (Discovery) section (films by young and very talented directors), the Animation section (showing films like Le Chat du Rabbin (Rabbi's Cat), the Documentary film category ' (Nous, Princesse de Cleves -Children of the Princess of Cleves) and the Short film category showing five novelty short productions.
The fifteenth edition of the French Film Festival will be also presented in more three Romanian cities namely in Timisoara (west), on Oct 29-30, in Cluj (central), on Nov 3-5 and in Sibiu, on Nov 4 - 6.
