Eurostat: Romania scores second high growth in building works in EU, in August

Romania's building works grew by 6.3 percent, in Aug 2011 compared to the same month, last year, a higher growth scoring only Poland, namely 10.6 percent, among the EU countries, read data the European Union's Statistical Office Eurostat presents on Wednesday.
According to the available data, the building works bulk grew in six (Romania included) EU Member States, only, and dropped in eight. The yearly pace of the building works increased by 2.5 percent in the euro zone, and by 0.6 percent in the European Union.
In exchange, in Aug compared to July, 2011, Romania ranked the second (minus 4.5 percent) among the EU states in terms of lower building works, with Slovakia coming the first, namely minus 6.6 percent. The building works bulk went up by 0.2 percent in the euro zone, whereas it stood stable in the European Union. The building works bulk was lower in seven Member States (Romanian included) and increased in five.
According to the data the National Statistics Institute (INS) supplied, the building works bulk went down by 0.3 percent in terms of raw and by 1 percent of adjusted figures, over the first eight months of the year, compared to the same time span in 2010, contingent on the number of working days and seasonality.
