ZEW: The economic perspective of Romania for the next six months got worse

The perception of the financial analysts regarding the evolution of Romania's economy over the next six months recorded in October the most important worsening in Central and Eastern Europe, according to a survey of the ZEW institute, taken by Mediafax. Romania went down from the first position as regards expectations following Turkey and Poland.
The indicator which measures the perception of analysts for the Romanian economy over the next six months went down by 30.2 points, at -35.8 points, the survey made by ZEW shows, in collaboration with the Austrian group Erste. Turkey and Poland overcame Romania after growths of 16 points, and 11.8 points respectively, in October at -15.4 and -25 points. Immediately after Romania is the Czech Republic with -38.6 points. Central and Eastern Europe recorded an improvement of the perspectives, the indicator of the region going forward by 13 points, at -25 points,supported by the evolution in Turkey and Poland.
As regards the economic situation, Romania keeps the last but one position in Central and Eastern Europe after Hungary. The indicator which evaluates the Romanian economic situation at present went down by 10.3 points, at 47.5 points, while in Hungary it went down by 11.9 points at 68.2 points. The indicator for the present situation of the region went down by 1.5 points in October to 5.7 points. The perspective of the stock exchange in Bucharest went worse in October according to the ZEW study, and the indicator measuring the expectations for the BET indicator showed a decline of 8.4 points, at 13.9 points. At the same time, the expectations for the evolution of the leu improved, with an advance of 6.6 points, at 16.7 points. At the survey for October, undergone between 30 September and 17 October there were 84 financial analysts, out of whom 22 of Turkey. The Central and Eastern Europe region includes, in the ZEW study Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.
