Chinese investors show interest in Romanian energy and infrastructure projects

The Chinese investors say they want to get involved in the Romanian energy and infrastructure projects, such as the thermal power plant at Doicesti, the building of the Sibiu-Pitesti, and Comarnic - Brasov motorway segments, the Braila bridge and the modernization works of Constanta port (Romanian Black Sea shore), informs Economy, Trade and Business Environment Ministry release.
The joint Romanian Chinese Governmental Economic Cooperation Commission chaired by Economy Minister Ion Ariton and China's deputy Minister of Commerce Wang Chao met in Beijing, on Thursday.
'Chinese companies like China Ghezouba and China Sinohydro are interested in the Tarnita Hdro Power Station project, while China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group is keen on the Cernavoda Units 3 and 4, and a Confidentiality Accord was signed, on Wednesday. China Dalian International Holdings and China Communications Construction Company displayed interest in the building of the Bucharest ring road. At the same time, China National Agricultural Group Corporation, is interested in the Siret-Baragan Canal project and it will send a delegation to Romania, this month to start talks on the project,' Minister Ariton said about the energy and the infrastructure projects the Chinese investors are keen on.
All the projects are to be carried out in full compliance with the Romanian laws.China's deputy Minister of Commerce Wang Chao said that his country encourages the Chinese companies to invest in the Romanian projects and voiced hope they become tangible as soon as possible.
China holds a priority place in Romania's policy on the development of the relations with the Asian countries, and it ranks first in terms of the commerce in Asia, both in exports and imports. The Romanian exports to China grew by over 33 percent, during the first eight months of the year.
Romania, among the Central and Eastern European countries is China's fourth big commercial partner. Likewise, Romania became one of the main destinations of the Chinese investments.Economy Minister Ion Ariton and Deputy Minister of Commerce Wang Chao signed the protocol of the joint Romanian Chinese Governmental Economic Cooperation Commission.
