Mugur Isarescu: Our worry is not for zero budget deficit but for a manageable one

In his opinion, 'we do not have a pension fund but a pension budget. Pension funds are good means of saving on a long run. In order o invest we must encourage saving, especially on the long run.' Isarescu considers that Romania did not have just the question of general differences between saving and investments, but also of the structure of saving as those who four years ago were in love with foreign exchange credits want to kill them for good now. It is irrational to do that. Certainly the currency risk is a problem but stopping foreign exchange credits would be a mistake.'
