Romania commercial deficit at EUR 741 mn in September

The Romanian FOB-CIF commercial deficit in Sept. totalled 3.165 billion lei (741.1 million euros), by 394.2 million lei (95.1 million euros) lower than in Sept. of 2010, show preliminary estimations of he National Institute for Statistics sent on Wednesday.
FOB exports amounted to 17.849 billion lei (4.177 billion euros) in this Sept., while CIF imports totalled 21.014 billion lei (4.918 billion euros).
When compared to last Sept., the Romanian shipments were up 18.8 percent in leu terms (18.4 pct in euro terms), while imports rose 13.1 percent in leu terms (12.7 percent in euro terms).
Romanian exports in Sept. compared to Aug. expanded 21.4 percent, leu terms (20.7 percent, euro terms), while imports were up 14.7 percent, leu terms (14.0 percent, euro terms).
FOB exports over Jan.-Sept. stood at 140.713 billion lei (33.450 billion euros) and CIF imports amounted to 169.617 billion lei (40.349 billion euros). When compared to the nine months of 2010, the Romanian exports grew 24.8 percent, leu terms (24.2 percent, euro terms) and imports increased 19.5 percent, leu terms (19.0 percent, euro terms).
The FOB-CIF trade gap over Jan. 1- Sept. 30, 2011 stood at 28.904 billion lei (6.898 billion euros), by 273.5 million lei (82.4 million euros) narrower on the same period in the prior year.
Romania's inside-EU goods exchanges Jan. to Sept. totalled 100.098 billion lei (23.798 billion euros) in shipments and 121,439.3 million lei (28,891.4 million euros) in inflows accounting for 71.1 percent of total exports and 71.6 percent of overall imports.
The difference between the dynamic calculated on the basis of leu term values and the one in euro term values was the result by the monthly variation of the national currency's exchange rate to the euro in the nine months of this year compared to the same period in 2010.
Main shares in the Romanian exports and imports Jan. to Sept. 2011 were held by transport machinery and equipment (41.2 percent for exports and 33.7 percent for imports) and other manufactured products (33.8 percent for exports and 30.7 percent imports), Agerpres reports.
