FinMin Gheorghe Ialomitianu: The 2012 budget is cautious and realistic; investments are main target
ACTMedia - 14 Noiembrie 2011
Public Finance Ministry Gheorghe Ialomitianu on Friday told a press conference held in Bistrita (northern Romania) that the budget for 2012 was a 'cautious' and 'realistic' one and would have as main target the stimulation of investments.According to the Minister, the budget is almost ready and could reach Parliament by the end of this month.
'We have proposed the Government a budget with a budget deficit of 1.9 percent - a small deficit to many, but we have started the budgetary construction from a tax stability, therefore no tax will modify in 2012, and the possibility of financing expenses at the lowest costs. It is known that we cannot totally guarantee financing from loans, as many not so good things are happening on the financial markets, and we started from the idea that we can finance a 1.9 percent deficit at low costs. We count on an over 1.8 percent economic growth, a healthy growth, ensured by investments in the first place,' Ialomitianu said.
The Finance Minister says investments will be a budget priority in the year to come, especially those in infrastructure.'Government Boc's number one objective is securing money for investments. We shall have more money for investments in 2012, we shall ensure money for co-financing. We hope that in 2012 we register a larger fund-drawing compared with 2011. The investments will be made in infrastructure in the first place, where we shall have a multiplication of revenues, an increase in jobs,' the Minister pointed out.
Ialomitianu characterized the budget for 2012 as a 'cautious' and 'realistic' one, but capable of facing the possible 'shocks' on the foreign financial markets.Among the economy stimulating measures mentioned by Gheorghe Ialomitianu, there were the diversified state aid schemes, also addressed to small enterprises, and the bank-loan guarantees for companies.
