SIFs' net assets drop 5% in October

The net assets of the five financial investment funds (SIFs) amounted to 6.1 billion lei in late October, 5 percent lower on a year-on-year basis, and 11.6 percent lower than in December 2010, according to the Funds' Administrators Association.

In the European currency, the net asset value in late April was 1.42 billion euros, 4.4 percent lower than the previous month.

All the five financial investment funds reported in late October lower values of the net values as compared to the previous month, ranging from -4.1 percent at SIF Oltenia and -6.3 percent at SIF Transilvania.

The closing values on the stock market reported corrections at four out of five SIFs, the exception being SIF Transilvania which reported a 2.7 percent appreciation. The slightest adjustment was the closing price of SIF Oltenia, of -1.3 percent, and the highest at SIF Banat-Crisana of -5.5 percent.
