Romanian state holds 2.7% stake in Proprietatea Fund

The Romanian state, via the Public Finances Ministry, still holds 2.74 percent of the 13.4 billion lei Proprietatea (Property) Fund (FP) underwritten capital, according to the latest reports on the Fund shareholders released on Nov. 11. (1 euro=4.35 lei)
Romanian individuals hold a 36.26 percent stake, non-resident individuals hold 9.83 percent, foreign institutional shareholders have 40.03 percent and Romanian institutional shareholders have 11.14 percent stake.
The FP has a total 10,667 shareholders.
The shareholders that own more than 5 percent of the FP share capital are Manchester Securities Corp. with 8.65 percent and Georgia Palade van Dusen with 6.57 percent.
The Fund was set up in order to pay damages to those persons who had their property seized by the former communist rule. It was listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange on this Jan. 25.
