Romania needs RON 57 bn and EUR 2.4 bn for deficit, public debt

The Romanian authorities must finance an 11 billion lei budget deficit and roll over those government bond issues that mature in 2012.The Finances Ministry borrowed roughly 42 billion lei from the local banks in the 10 months of this year; the ministry took out loans of more than 41 billion lei from the domestic market in 2010.

The Government on Friday adopted the 2012 Draft State Budget and the Draft Social Security Budget based on an estimated economic growth of 2.1 percent and a deficit target of 1.9 percent of GDP.
