Mugur Isarescu re-elected as chairman of National Committee on Financial Stability for another year
Agerpres - 1 Februarie 2012
Governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) Mugur Isarescu was re-elected as Chairman of the National Committee on Financial Stability (CNSF) for another year, the committee reports in a release sent to Agerpres.
The members of the Committee, at the meeting held on Jan. 31, analyzed the Recommendation on National Macro-prudential Mandates, released by the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB), as well as the institutional arrangements to implement the macro-prudential policies in some EU member states.
In this context, the CNSF officials set up the action priorities aimed at drawing up by this June an intermediary report on Romania's macro-prudential mandate as a first stage to implement the ESRB Recommendation in the national legislation.
The agenda of the meeting also included talks on the latest measures meant to consolidate the financial stability in line with the provisions of the agreements signed with the European Commission, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. At the same time, the CNSF stressed that the Romanian financial sector held steady, well capitalized, despite the persistence of a difficult financial and economic context both in Europe and around the entire world.
Attending the meeting were Mugur Isarescu, State Secretary with the Finance Ministry Bogdan Dragoi, Chairwoman of National Securities Commission Gabriela Anghelache, Chairman of the Insurance Supervisory Board Constantin Buzoianu, Chairman of the Private Pension System Supervisory Board Mircea Oancea and Eugen Dijmarescu, director of the Bank Deposits Guarantee Fund.
