Auction of RON 500 million T-bill issue

The Ministry of Economy and Public Finance (MEF) on Wednesday drew more than 521 million lei for a discount T-bill issue placed via the National Bank of Romania.

The average bidding yield for the one-year securities was 9.29 percent, and the weighted average discount rate was 8.49 percent. The total value of the issue was one billion lei and demand by the 12 bidding banks totalled 1.279 billion lei. MEF turned down bids with an ask yield higher than 9.5 percent. A number of 12 primary dealers placed bids: ABN Amro Bank, Alpha Bank Romania, BRD - Groupe Societe Generale, Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), Banca Transilvania, Bancpost, Citibank Romania, the Savings Bank (CEC), ING, MKB Romexterra, Raiffeisen Bank and UniCredit Tiriac Bank.
