Leasing market to increase about 40 percent
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 30 Ianuarie 2008
The leasing market will go up in 2008 by about 40 percent, according to estimates, which also point to a continuation of the demand for financing of car acquisitions, mainly commercial, as well as a solid growth of the real estate leasing, daily Financiarul reports on Tuesday.
For Romania the average rise of the market was estimated by analysts at some 50 percent in 2008, a figure which at present seems too optimistic allowing for the worsening of the economic situation.
Romstal Leasing company announced on Monday, January 28, that in 2007 concluded as many as 5,850 contracts, totally worth some 211 million euros, up almost 50 percent as against 2006 and above the initially estimated growth rate, of 25 percent. The growth was, on one hand, prompted by the extension of the territorial network, and on the other hand, by the improvement of the financing conditions for the most important categories of the company's products, said marketing manager Ionut Chirila. Other factors were the financing period for the real estate leasing, for commercial vehicles and equipment, and car leasing targeting individuals.
The car market is the business' growth engine. In 2007, financing for the car acquisitions accounted for 40 percent of the company's portfolio, light and heavy commercial vehicles accounted for 44 percent, equipment 9 percent, buildings - 6 percent and motorbikes - 1 percent.
This year the company aims to report a 30-percent rise, up to 275 million euros with 7,500 signed contracts.
