KFC Romania envisages around 50 mln euro turnover for 2008

US Food Network company, owner of the Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) franchise, is targeting €50 million in turnover in 2008. The company posted €37.5 mln turnover in 2007.

Representatives indicated that investments rose to €3 mln in 2007, and they have scheduled investments worth €5 mln this year. KFC owns 23 locations in Romania. 'We plan to open 10 restaurants in 2008, in Bucharest, and in cities such as Suceava, Galati, Craiova, Targu Mures, Constanta or Sibiu, thereby consolidating our presence throughout the country,' company representatives told Business Standard. In Bucharest, the most profitable locations are at Unirea Shopping Center and Magheru Boulevard. The restaurant in Plaza Romania mall has also registered significant growth. KFC's portfolio is made up of chicken products. The company's representatives said that KFC claims 95 percent of the chicken product market. According to information from the market, US Food Network is supposedly controlled by businessman Gabriel Popoviciu through Alltrom group, which also owns the Pizza Hut restaurant chain.
