Romsilva intends to draw external funding for non-profit activities

Romsilva public corporation intends to open in 2008 centers for the management of some activities, for drawing external funding, Romsilva general manager Dan Ioan Aldea told a press conference.
'We think, first, of the management of the national parks. We intend to have separate structures and to become a legal person for drawing external funding, ' Aldea said.
Romsilva spends annually over three million dollars for the management of the national parks, in 2008 alone costs are put at 3.3 million dollars.
A strategy will be devised for each park, the status of wet zone of international importance is to be got for the national park of Comana, the national park of the Iron Gates and that of Tinovul Poiana Stampei - Suceava, the infrastructure and tourist programme are to be developed, partnerships are intended with NGOs and other bodies, cooperation will be set with parks abroad.
Romsilva wants to organize, in Romania, the first conference of the parks in the Carpathians.
Romsilva spends six million euros annually for non-specific activities, three million of that sum goes to the management of the 22 national parks in Romania.
