ArcelorMittal Galati invests in labour

ArcelorMittal Galati invested last year 18.4 million dollars in labour protection programmes, in staff training projects and in some others for the improvement of the work conditions, the company informed.

The management of the company implemented a new programme for work security and health, in a partnership with South-African International Risk Management Solution Provider - IRCA, it also invested in a staff-training center and in protection equipment. In addition, ArcelorMittal Galati repaired the lighting system in the plant, modernized the cloakrooms, the bathrooms and the other social facilities, it launched a permanent cleaning plan for the plant. 'We have been focusing on improving the work conditions for all our employees and we have been implementing the best practice in point of work security and health, ' said executive general manager of the plant Augustine Kochuparampil.
