Bramac Romania to expand production

Bramac Co. in Romania - producer of roof-covering products - is to start this year the construction of a second factory in the country, close to Bucharest (Romania's Capital) and, by doubling the output capacity, it is going to secure a substantial growth in its 2009 turnover.
Mircea Dumitru, Bramac Romania director general, says that the investment into the new factory is estimated at more than five million euros. The company is about to acquire a plot of land near Bucharest. The new production unit is to be finalized in 2009.
The first Bramac Co. factory is in Sibiu (center) and has an annual production capacity of some 13 million roof tiles.
Bramac concluded 2007 with a turnover of 17.8 million euros, a jump of 29 percent from 2006 and estimates for this year a surge of up to 30 percent. Under these conditions, company's business could exceed 20 million euros. Imports' weight in the turnover is below 10 percent. Company's sales climbed last year by 32 percent in volume.
Starting with this year, Bramac is to also enter the solar panels segment, set to be imported from Austria.
Main competing companies on this profile market are Megaprofil, Ruukki, Lindab and Siceram.
Majority shareholder in Bramac-Sisteme de Invelitori is the company Bramac Dachsysteme International from Austria, held by Wienerberger and Lafarge groups.
