SIFs - dividends of 2 pc of respective share price on BVB
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 10 Martie 2008
Dividends distributed by the Financial Investment Companies (SIFs) in 2008 from last year profit will account for about 2 percent of the respective share price on Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), a profitability rate close to the one in 2007.
SIFs dividend profitability showed a strong decline in the past years, from an average dividend derived gains of 34.1 percent in 2001 to below 3 percent, starting with 2006.
Four SIFs - Banat-Crisana, Moldova, Transilvania and Oltenia - announced up to present the dividend quantum they plan to distribute to shareholders. First two SIFs offer dividends in cash as an alternative, if their plan to capitalize last year profit and to grant free shares is not going to materialize because of shareholders' lack of approval.
SIF Oltenia plans to distribute a gross dividend of 0.078 lei/share, accounting for 2.3 percent of the last BVB share price, of 3.33 lei. The other three SIFs - Banat-Crisana, Moldova and Transilvania - announced gross dividends of 0.07 lei/share, 0.05 lei/share and, respectively, 0.0375 lei/share, accounting for 2.4 percent in the case of SIF Banat-Crisana, 2.1 percent - SIF Transilvania and 1.8 percent - SIF Moldova.
In Adrian Danciu's opinion, analyst with Broker Cluj-Napoca (center-west), anyway SIFs investors do not target dividends, but the held assets, some of them wishing to acquire a future control position in case the current threshold will rise.
