Romanian outdoor advertising market seen growing
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 18 Martie 2008
The outdoor advertising market draws nearly 12 percent of the overall media market of Romania, with its value being put at some 70 million euros this year, up 20 percent on 2007.
Bucharest holds the top position on this type of advertising.
The advertisers allot from 10 to 80 percent of the annual advertising budgets to outdoor promotion.
The real estate firms and consumer goods are the top investors in this kind of advertising.
Affichage CEO Lucian Palaz, whose company is the second-largest in the Romanian advertising market, anticipates that the market would stay unchanged by value this year, while the pace will follow in the footsteps of the economic trend from the United States and the real estate business.
News Outdoor Romania company estimates this year's market at some 73-75 million euros, while Starplus agency's media director Cristian Nutuloiu sees the outdoor market growing from 10 to 12 percent from 2007, based on the higher prices for TV promotion. However, with 2008 being an election year in Romania, the advertising market has the potential to grow more than expected.
Advertisers pay from 150 euros to several hundred thousand euros a month in order to be present in this market. An advertising campaign for a residential project in Bucharest costs nearly 50,000 euros a month, while a nationwide, one-month campaign for a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) product costs about 170,000 - 200,000 euros.
