200-store Grand Arena shopping mall in southern Bucharest

Works at the Grand Arena, a 200-store shopping mall located in southern Bucharest (Romania's capital city), will end in Q4 of 2008.

Intermed Euroinvest allotted over 20 million euros to the project. Grand Arena's main anchor will be Carrefour hypermarket, currently under construction, it will cover about 67,000 sq.m. The accord with Carrefour was signed in 2007. The works on Sun Plaza, due to open in 2009 started at less than two kms far from the Grand Arena, in Sudului Marketplace (in southern Bucharest). Mivan Irish Co. will complete Liberty Center, located in Rahova district (southern Bucharest), in November. Baneasa Shopping Center, the biggest shopping mall in Romania, numbering over 220 stores, will be inaugurated in southern Bucharest, on April 18. The new shopping center can let 85,000 sq,m (twice more than Plaza Romania or Bucharest Mall) with the investment in the project amounting to round 150 million euros.
