Ford investments in Automobile Craiova will be a magnet for other investors, US Ambassador in Bucharest Nicholas Taubman said during a ceremony the US investor staged on the occasion of taking over the Romanian carmaker.

By this important moment, Romania goes on promoting the outlook of a modern industrial sector mainly focused on exports which are to supply new jobs, to increase productivity and to back up economic development. Ford Company's presence will beneficially influence the Romanian economy, generally backing up growth and acting as a magnet for other investments, Taubman stressed. He congratulated Ford for opting for Automobile Craiova, for setting up the newest and the most modern Ford production center in Europe, representing its biggest new factory in the past 36 years. Romania is a blessed country availing of croplands and plenty of energy and mineral resources. But people are Romania's true wealth. Romania's trained, innovative and creative human capital makes the country an important player in the region and not only, the US diplomat stressed. Ford investment in Automobile Craiova is one of the biggest US investments in Romania representing a significant confidence vote granted to the Romanian business environment and Romania's place in the global economy, Taubman added. The US ambassador foresaw an extraordinary relation between Ford and Craiova, adding he is extremely happy to attend its beginning. These are extraordinary times.
