Aviva: Upward trend expected in 2008 for effective power of investments

The effective power of investment component products will be subject to a continuing upward trend in 2008, especially lei-denominated investments, due to good economic perspectives, said General Manager of investment company Aviva Grup Romania, Shah Rouf.

'Lei-denominated investment programs were influenced by inflation, interest rates, foreign exchange rates and the evolution of the stock exchange. The interest rate had the same trajectory as inflation: dropping in the first half of the year and rising in the second half,' Rouf added. The company's objective is to become one of the top three suppliers on the investment market. Aviva will use cross-selling campaigns to offer savings, insurance and investment products. The optional Pensia Mea pension fund has attracted over 5,700 clients and assets worth RON 1,643,000 (some €450,000), while Pillar II (mandatory private pensions) brought over 305,000 participants and a market share of 7.36 percent. Aviva Grup Romania includes three companies: insurance branch Aviva Asigurari de Viata, pension fund Aviva Societate de Administrare a unui Fond de Pensii Privat SA, and Certinvest, acquired in September 2007.
