Wind park of 250 MW could be commissioned in 2008

A wind park of 250 MW could be commissioned this year, in Dobrogea province, south-eastern Romania, said vice-president of the National Regulatory Authority in Energy Nicolae Opris.

Investors in wind stations, which will also build devices for the regulation of the production of energy, can apply for authorizations, Opris said. According to him, as of 2005, when a green certificate scheme started being implemented, for encouraging the production of renewable energy, more and more investors have been willing to build wind stations. 'After two years of measurements, we have been submitted a big number of applications for wind stations. The Authority has authorized so far the building of wind stations, of 300 MW, in Dobrogea, but applications submitted to Transelectrica exceed 1,500 MW, the limit of flexibility, ' Opris said.
