Eight companies seek to mediate 5 pc package of Airport Otopeni capital listing
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 1 Aprilie 2008
A number of eight mediation companies submitted offers for the bidding organized by the Ministry of Transport in order to select the intermediary for the sale of the secondary offer of 5 percent of the share capital of the National Company Henri Coanda Bucharest SA International Airport.
The offers were opened on Monday at the Ministry of Transport.
The eight companies which submitted bids are BT Securities SA, a syndicate formed of BRD Securities GSG SA and EFG Eurobank Securities SA, HTI Valori Mobiliare SA, Raiffeisen Capital & Investment SA, SSIF Romcapital SA, a consortium formed of Rombell Securities SA and KBS Securities Romania,SSIF SA, a consortium formed of Alpha Finance SA Romania and Alpha Bank AE Greece, a syndicate formed of IEBA Trust and Piraeus Securities Romania SA.
Director of Privatization Division of the Ministry of Transport Dragos Tanasoiu announced recently that the Ministry will suggest the listing of some bigger share packages than five percent in the case of naval and air transport companies.
'I decided that a second stage is needed to list our companies because the five percent package, set to be put for privatization, based on the Government's Decision 574/2006, is not apt to attract very serious investors. In a very short time, we will propose the Government a second stage, when the package to be listed will rise up to 49 percent, maximum possible, yet leaving the state a shareholder', stressed Dragos Tanasoiu.
Stock exchange listing of the eight companies subordinated to the Ministry of Transport is to start in September and the brokerage companies to carry out this operation will be selected in May, according to the ministry representatives.
In line with the law, a brokerage company will mediate the listing of at least two companies. The eight companies subordinated to the ministry, going to be listed on the Stock Exchange are: the National Company Henri Coanda - Bucharest International Airport, National Company Bucharest - Baneasa - Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, Mihail Kogalniceau - Constanta International Airport, Timisoara - Traian Vuia International Airport, Constanta Navigable Channels Administration, Administration of the Danube Maritime Ports Galati, Administration of Maritime Ports Constanta and Administration of the Danube River Ports.
