Tnuva invests ten million euros in cow farm
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 1 Aprilie 2008
Tnuva Romania, the local subsidiary of the biggest dairies producer in Israel, invested ten million euros in a cow farm at Adumatii Copaceni, Giurgiu County, southern Romania, which currently has 550 cows.
'The farm was bought four years ago, and the total investment for reconstructing, equipping and populating it exceeded ten million euros. Part of the money came from Sapard fund,' said Dorian Cristian, Vice-President and Operation Manager Tnuva Romania.
The farm currently owns 550 Hollstein cows, but its capacity stands at 800 cows. Although the dairies the factory produces are for the domestic market only, marketing vice-president Tnuva Romania Sagit Tzur Lahav said he does not rule out the export of these dairies to the regional market.
Tnuva brought in the Romanian market the know-how got in its 80 years of experience, at all levels, from the raw materials to production, distribution, sale and marketing.
In Romania, Tnuva is a local company, most of the 300 employees are Romanians, and the raw material comes from the local market. Tnuva Romania was set up in 2004 by Tnuva Israel in a partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
