Market research suppliers cannot cope with demand for market studies

Market research suppliers on the Romanian market do not cope with the demand for market studies, says Daniel Enescu, managing director of Daedalus Consulting Grup, one of the most important companies on the local relevant market, in an interview published by Business Standard newspaper on Tuesday.

The Daedalus Grup representative thinks that the market could grow more if the companies were able to cope with the demand. He says that if the companies had the necessary capacity, there might be increases that could be higher by at least 15 percent. 'A market on which the supplier cannot cope with the demand is a market on which the customer waits in line for studies to be made and this is not normal at all. On a civilized market it is the suppliers that do their best to attract customers,' says Enescu. He also says that the local market research market came to a point in which a selection was imminent as it faces a continuous decline of competence, a migration of the personnel to multinational companies and, last but not least, the combined pressure put by the more and more demanding customers and the ever higher salaries expected by the employees. The Daedalus Grup official thinks that 2008 might be the year in which the Romanian research market should encounter the so-called 'shake-out' so that one should witness the disappearance of the companies that will not be able to have a competitive price or a reasonable quality of the services they provide or of the companies that did not manage to demonstrate that they were structured well enough. On the other hand Daniel Enescu does not think that the imports of experts are a viable solution for the companies that are to face such problems only if they are good experts, with expertise in a certain kind of service.
