ECS Romania targets 100 clients by year-end
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 18 Aprilie 2008
The local branch of IT infrastructure management services supplier Europe Computer Systems (ECS), controlled by French lender Groupe Societe Generale, plans to secure some 50-100 clients by the end of 2008, daily Business Standard informs on Thursday.
'We are targeting medium-sized and large companies, with more than 50-60 employees. For the first year of operations in Romania, main sources of business growth will be IT equipment rental, actual leasing and services,' ECS General Manager, Jacques Sorrel, said at a press conference to announce the launch of ECS operations in Romania.
The company currently has 10 clients and estimates it will rent some 6,000 computers by year-end. Its target by the end of 2010 is the rental of 40,000 computers. ECS has three employees and plans to double the figure in 2008.
Sorrel indicated that ECS is considering acquiring a local IT company. 'However, we are not thinking about an acquisition this year, but rather by 2010, we plan either a very strong partnership with an IT company or a takeover,' he added.
