Only 20 pct of Romanian companies opt for strategic consulting
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 22 Aprilie 2008
Romanian companies are not mature enough to opt for strategic consulting, so that just 20 percent thereof use such services, reveals Bucharest Consulting Group's (BCG) Managing Partner, Peter Jansen told Business Standard.
Meanwhile, some 80 - 90 percent of foreign companies use strategic consulting for their business, Jansen added. The gap is explained by the fact that Romanian companies are not large and complex enough to require such advisory services, while these are mandatory for multinationals, Jansen explained.
Furthermore, fees are another cause for Romanian managers to choose not to use strategic consulting, although Jansen believes that interest of local companies will increase in the coming years. BCG is a part of Boston Consulting Group.
The strategic consulting market is estimated at some 20 - 25 million euro, and is expected to grow 20-25 percent this year. The company's main competitors on the local market are McKinsey, AT Kearney, Roland Berger, Horvath & Partners, and the Big Four (KPMG, Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst&Young).
