Manfred Wimmer, appointed within Erste Bank’s executive committee

Manfred Wimmer, BCR’s Executive President, has been appointed financial director and director charged with Erste Group’s performance by Erste Bank’s Overwatch Council.

He is set to take over his new office starting on September 1, 2008, the bank has recently informed in a press communiqué. This appointment has been determined by Peter Kisbenedek’s, Erste Bank’s financial director, decision to return to Hungary and by his resignation from Erste Bank’s Executive Committee. Kisbenedek has been Erste Bank Hungary’s CEO ever since November 2000, joining Erste Bank’s Executive Committee in July 2007. During his seven years as Erste Bank Hungary’s CEO he has managed to transform the Hungarian branch and to ensure the quick integration of Postabank. Dominic Bruynseels (48 years of age), who has been until recently director for emerging markets within Barclays, has replaced Manfred Wimmer as BCR’s Executive President. Dominic Bruynseels will join the BCR leadership starting on May 1 and will takeover the bank’s effective leadership after receiving the approvals from the National Bank of Romania.
