KPMG: Western Romania develops faster
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 24 Aprilie 2008
KPMG Romania believes that the western Romania is the one of the most attractive regions for the foreign investors, not only because the region is more developed than the rest of Romania, but also because the poor national infrastructure forces investors to establish their business as close as possible to EU markets.
Senior manager with Timisoara-based KPMG Daniela Strusevici office told Business Standard that the region became more attractive after the EU accession, offering better prospects for development. Most investments have been directed towards banking sector, retail and real estate, she said, but the potential of other sectors is far from being reached.
She gave tourism as example, insisting on the decline registered by Baile Herculane resort (southeastern Romania) after 1990.
