Romania, a strategic region for Oracle

Romania is the fourth largest market in Europe in terms of number of employees and is a strategic area for Corporation Oracle, said President of Oracle Corporation Charles Phillips, currently in a visit in Romania.

Therefore, Oracle made massive investment in Romanians offices, covering various services, said Phillips. Romania is the first stage in a tournament the Oracle President is making in Europe, and this proves the importance Oracle shows in the Romanian market, says Sorin Mandrutescu, director general of Oracle Romania. The company has 14 centers in Romania, with over 1,3000 employees. Charles Phillips is President of Oracle Corporation, one of the main global business software producers, and is part of the company board as of January 2004. He is responsible with Oracle operations, including consultancy, marketing, sales, partnerships, as well as corporative strategies. The Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is a key direction for Oracle in Romania for the next years. 'We expect a 100 percent increase in CRM business for Oracle Romania,' said Alexandr Pastor, Applications Sales Director Oracle Romania. The share of this type of solutions in the company business is only 10 percent, but the figures will reach 20-25 percent over the next two years,' he said. A survey of International Data Corporation shows that Romanian CRM market is worth 3.63 million dollars, representing 6.8 percent of the whole applications market. The solutions for sales management reached 2.53 million dollars, the call-center solutions 0.71 million dollars, the marketing applications 0.34 dollars and client services 0.05 million dollars. In 2008, Oracle Romania focuses its strategy on the public sector, telecommunications and financial services (banks and insurances), sectors to report significant growth on the domestic market of software and IT services. With business of 33.7 million euros in 2006, Oracle Romania is the second main player on the domestic business software market, its main competitor being the German company SAP, daily business Standard informs.
