KPMG Romania expands area of interest
ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 9 Mai 2008
KPMG Romania, the local subsidiary of consultancy company KPMG, present in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Timisoara, but also in the Republic of Moldova, intends to open offices also in other areas of the country, especially in the university centres and in the towns that record a constant pace of foreign investments. Such localities are Iasi (east), Craiova (south) and Constanta (south-east, on the Black Sea coast).
Serban Toader, senior partner of KPMG Romania, quoted by the Business Standard daily, believes foreign investments have focused so far mainly on Bucharest and western Romania, areas that are more developed economically, which benefit from better infrastructure. Serban Toader believes the profile of the foreign investor in Romania has started to change: as compared to a few years ago, when the interest of the investors from the 'mature' countries in the EU was predominant, now the presence of Russian, Asian and American investors is felt.
KPMG Romania, set up in 1994, has some 550 employees and intends to hire at least 100 people in the next fiscal year. With over 123,000 employees in some 150 countries, KPMG is one of the world's biggest consultancy companies, along PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst&Young and Deloitte& Touche, together with which it forms the so-called Big Four group.
