ROMPRES - Romanian News Agency - 20 Mai 2008
Belgian company Carmeuse, the largest lime producer on the local market, plans to start construction of its fourth factory in Romania, with an investment estimated at some €35-50 million.
According to market sources, quoted by Ziarul financiar, the unit will be built in the town of Pojoga, Hunedoara County. Carmeuse representatives declined to comment the information.

The company's turnover amounted to €36 million in 2007 and is estimated to remain idle this year.
Lime production in Romania reached 1.9 mln tones in 2007, while sales on the local market rose to some 1 mln tones. Carmeuse's main competitors are Celco Constanta and Simcor Var.
