A production center of the famous mozzarella will be set up in Botiza, a locality in Maramures, northern Romania, famous for its tourist offer in a beautiful natural environment, 'Estrada maramuresana' newspaper reports.
In less than two years, a buffalo farm based on the production of mozzarella will be operational there. The investment, that exceeds 1 million euros, will be made by a German economist, Volker Bulitta, who, in partnership with a Botiza local, Vasile Trifoi, will open the center.
Mozzarella of Botiza will be ecological, in line with the EU standards, and will be exported to France, Luxembourg and Germany, where the demand for cheese is very high.
Volker Bulitta discovered Botiza in 1992, as tourist in Maramures. Impressed by the beauty of the place and by the authenticity of the traditional village in this Romanian corner, he returned year by year to spend his holiday here, and, getting to know very well the economic potential of the area, he decided to start a business with a sure profit.
